What is measured?WebHID counts incoming reports of one selected report type. The browser, operating system and batching affect the result. This is not a certified USB polling rate or end-to-end input latency.

Why don't I see 1,000 or 8,000 Hz?+
The browser only sees updates supplied by the operating system. Gamepad mode counts visible state changes per animation frame, so the display refresh rate may limit the result. WebHID is closer to received reports, but they can also be delayed or batched. Reliably checking the actual USB polling rate requires a native measurement tool or USB analyzer.
My controller is not listed in WebHID.+
Use desktop Chrome or Edge and open the tester in its own tab. Some controllers or XInput devices do not provide a suitable WebHID interface. Try Gamepad mode and press a controller button. No drivers are installed and no device settings are changed.
